Theatre students from STLCC-Meramec found themselves in a "dire situation," said Michelle Rebollo, Theater program coordinator.

Several students, along with Rebollo were on their way to see the play "Sweeny Todd" at the Fox Theatre on, Nov. 15, when a campus van caught fire while the students were still inside.

SIUE Police announced Friday that an arrest was made for an armed robbery incident that occurred on Aug. 29 in Woodland Hall parking lot.

17-year-old Montrei M. Woods of Cahokia was arrested in connection with the armed robbery in which two assailants held an 18-year-old female student at gunpoint and demanded her purse according to SIUE Police.

Inclement weather has pushed back the construction deadline for the 28th Street and Carpenter Avenue project over a week but the project will still be completed in time for the Drake Relays, said Facilities Operations Manager Mark Chambers late last week.

The project was funded by the Department of Transportation, and, as a result, the construction guidelines stipulate that the company working on the project must be given up to two rain days each time it rains.

Every university must go through a reaccreditation process every 10 years and the end has come to another one of these processes for the University of Missouri-St. Louis, an end that has brought another 10 years of accreditation to the university.

"At an exit interview with the Higher Learning Commission Site Visit Team this morning, we received their preliminary report regarding our accreditation," Chancellor Thomas George said last Wednesday in an email.
